Kangana Ranaut, Bollywood actor and the recently elected MP from Mandi, was allegedly slapped at the Chandigarh airport while she was on her way to Delhi on Thursday. Ranaut has now arrived at the Delhi airport.
“A constable-rank CISF officer allegedly slapped Kangana Ranaut at Chandigarh Airport during a frisking argument. An inquiry committee comprising senior CISF officers has been set up to conduct a further investigation,” a news agency reported.
A video doing rounds on the internet showed the altercation following the incident.
Taking to social media, Ranaut released her statement saying, “I am safe and perfectly fine. At the Chandigarh airport, the CISF official, who attacked me, waited for me to pass by her and then she hit me in the face. When I asked her why she did that, she said that she supports the farmers’ protest. So, I am safe but my concern is for the radicalism that is developing in Punjab, how do we handle that?”
