A large tree fell inside Vitthal Bhai Patel House in Lutyens’ Delhi on Wednesday morning, damaging at least four vehicles parked nearby amid heavy rainfall in the national capital over the past two days, officials said.
The tree fell across a portion of the road inside the premises, with its trunk and branches damaging the parked cars, shattering their windshields and caving in their roofs. No injuries were reported, officials said.
The Central Public Works Department (CPWD) has begun clearing the fallen tree and removing the debris.
The incident comes after Delhi received heavy rainfall over the past two days, causing waterlogging and other rain-related disruptions at several places.
Visuals from the spot showed the tree lying across the road, with branches, leaves and sawdust scattered around the area.
