The NDMC announced on Saturday the deployment of an advanced anti-smog gun, boasting the largest tank capacity, in its ongoing campaign against pollution in Lutyens’ Delhi.
On Saturday morning, Delhi’s air quality remained in the “severe” category, prompting monitoring agencies to look towards a forthcoming western disturbance that could potentially ameliorate meteorological conditions starting Sunday.
This latest anti-smog gun is affixed to a 28-tonne CNG truck chassis, featuring a water tank capable of holding 17,000 litres, aimed at curbing air pollution, stated the NDMC. Notably, it holds the highest tank capacity among all anti-smog guns currently operational in Delhi across various agencies.
Benefiting from its substantial water reservoir, the anti-smog gun can operate continuously for three hours. It boasts a projection range of 30 to 50 metres and is equipped with side nozzles to efficiently cleanse footpaths, shrubbery, and plants. The statement emphasised that the anti-smog gun covers an average area of 70 km per day along avenue roads in the NDMC area, operating in two shifts.
Additionally, the NDMC has acquired another anti-smog gun, which is already in use at Pandit Pant Marg within the NDMC precincts, the statement added. (With inputs from PTI)
