
Scattered rain was witnessed in parts of the Delhi early Wednesday, with the weather office predicting overcast skies for the day.
Safdarjung recorded a minimum temperature of 29.1 degrees Celsius, 1.9 degrees above normal. The weather station also recorded trace amount of rain between 2.30 am and 5.30 am.
Palam recorded a minimum temperature of 24.2 degrees Celsius, a 2.6 degree decrease from a day before; Lodhi Road recorded a minimum of 28.4 degrees Celsius, while Ridge and Ayanagar recorded a minimum of 26.4 degrees and 26.6 degrees Celsius respectively.
Ayanagar and Najafgarh recorded 1 mm of rain between 11.30 pm on Tuesday and 2.30 am on Wednesday, according to data from the India Meteorological department (IMD).
Cloudy conditions are expected to persist throughout the day.
“There is a possibility of very light rain throughout the day, along with cloudy skies,” an IMD official.
The maximum temperature is likely to settle at 38 degrees Celsius.
The air quality index (AQI) remained in the moderate category at 159, according to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).
As per CPCB standards, an AQI of 0-50 is considered ‘good’, 51-100 ‘satisfactory’, 101-200 ‘moderate’, 201-300 ‘poor’, 301-400 ‘very poor’, and 401-500 ‘severe’.
