Three committees under two ministers formed for preparation of upcoming festivals: Delhi CM

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Saturday said three special committees have been formed under two ministers for preparations and better coordination for the upcoming festivals of Ramleela, Durga Puja and Chhath Puja.

Culture Minister Kapil Mishra will head the committees for Chhath Puja and Durga Puja celebrations and Social Welfare Minister Ravinder Indraj Singh will head the committee for Ramleela arrangements.

“The festivals are deeply connected with the faith and emotions of millions of people. The government’s effort is to ensure that devotees can celebrate their festivals with complete faith, devotion and warmth, without facing any inconvenience at the venues,” Gupta said.

The government’s priority is to ensure all necessary arrangements well in advance so that religious events are conducted in an environment of convenience, security, cleanliness and harmony, she added in a statement.

The key responsibilities of the committees will include facilitating the issuance of NOCs through the concerned district magistrate’s office under the single-window system and ensuring adequate arrangements for drinking water, medical assistance, ambulance services, mobile toilets, fire services, security, traffic management, cleanliness and fogging at Puja venues.

The committees will also have officials from the revenue department for coordination with other agencies, officials added.
