Two persons have been arrested for entering the residence of Delhi LG VK Saxena after one of them posed as an IAS officer, police said.
They have been identified as Abhimanyu Sethi, a 41-year-old resident of Odisha, and Abhishek Chaudhary, a 27-year-old resident of Delhi, said the police.

According to police, the incident took place around 2:30 pm last Wednesday when the duo visited the LG’s office and one of them falsely claimed to be an IAS officer and asserted that he had a pre-scheduled appointment with Saxena.
“This ruse was quickly debunked by the secretariat staff, prompting the lodging of a case at the Civil Lines police station,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Sagar Singh Kalsi.

Although the investigation did not uncover any connections to terrorism, authorities proceeded with the inquiry, leading to the subsequent arrest of the two men, he said.
“It was revealed that the accused individuals had become acquainted through a mutual friend. Their primary motive appeared to be obtaining photographs with the LG, which they intended to exploit for monetary gain,” he added. (With inputs from PTI)
