Vande Mataram: Bharat Ek Sone ki Chidiya

Urvashi Dance Music Art & Cultural Society, in association with the New Delhi Municipal Committee, is thrilled to invite everyone to a spectacular event called “Vande Mataram: Bharat Ek Sone ki Chidiya.”

The mesmerizing dance ballet will showcase India’s rich and diverse cultural history and will take place on the April 28 and April 29 at Central Park, Connaught Place in New Delhi, starting at 7 PM.

The event will feature 100 talented artists, including girls from the underprivileged section, clad in vivid colors of gold, white, red, and green, who will elegantly perform classical, folk, and contemporary dance styles such as Kathakali, Bharatnatyam, Kathak, Pudiya, Malkham, Odissi, Mohiniattam, and Chhau. The ballet will also highlight yoga, an intrinsic part of Indian culture, and the artists will perform yoga generating powerful energy into the environment.

The event will be graced by esteemed guests such as Meenakshi Lekhi, Minister of Culture, Ajay Bhatt Minister of Defence and Tourism, ICCR President Dr Vinay Sehsrabuddhe, Director General ICCR Kumar Tuhin, Satish Upadhya Ji Vice Chairman NDMC, Film Actress Joyshree, Dr Bhagvad Kadar Finance Minister, and Bollywood Ace Choreographer Dharmesh Yelande.

In addition, the event will also commemorate World Dance Day, and performers from Kazakhstan, Russia, and Spain will showcase a unique Flamingo dance that celebrates the unity in diversity across the world.

The event’s director, Rekha Mehra, emphasised that the goal behind the event is to encourage less privileged children and give them a platform to demonstrate their skills in front of others. The event will conclude with a grand finale in which all the dancers will perform in perfect harmony, representing India’s unity and diversity.

This event promises to be a celebration of India’s cultural wealth and creative talent, highlighting India’s Vedic story from Vedic times to present-day India, where the country is being hailed as “Atmanirbhar Bharat.”

The stage background will be covered with elaborate patterns and decorations, highlighting India’s rich cultural past, with props imported from Singapore. The audience can expect to witness a magnificent visual spectacle that tells the story of India’s vibrant and diverse culture, Rekha Mehra said.
