In an alarming incident reported by the police on Saturday, a group of four individuals, including a woman, reportedly held a young girl captive and robbed a staggering amount of Rs 12 lakh from a residence in the Chandni Chowk area of central Delhi.
During the incident, the young girl was alone in the house. The case has been promptly registered at the Kotwali police station.
According to the police, the victim’s family, Sarwan Hussain, resides in the Kucha Rehman area, where they operate a lehenga shop. The perpetrators forcibly entered the house when one of Hussain’s daughters was home alone. The assailants threatened and restrained the girl by taping her hands, legs, and mouth, confining her to a room. They ransacked the almirah, stealing cash while leaving behind the jewelry. Upon the return of Sarwan’s wife, she discovered the incident and promptly alerted the police.
Law enforcement authorities have managed to obtain CCTV footage showing several suspects involved in the crime. Police suspect that individuals known to the victim might be involved, given the specific knowledge required to access the location where the cash and jewelry were stored securely. Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
