Woman shot dead in Delhi, accused kills self

A 42-year-old woman identified as Renu was tragically shot dead near her house in the Vaishali colony area of southwest Delhi’s Dabri on Thursday evening, according to the police.

Police said that Renu was a housewife living with her family. The incident was reported around 8:45 pm on Wednesday, prompting a swift response from the authorities.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka), M Harshvardhan, confirmed the incident and stated that upon receiving the information, several police teams were immediately formed to apprehend the perpetrator.

The accused, identified as Ashish, was the main suspect in the case. However, when the police reached his house to arrest him, Ashish tragically shot himself dead on the roof of his residence, said DCP.

He said that the police found the weapon used in both the killing of Renu and Ashish’s suicide at the scene.

Further investigations into the motive and circumstances surrounding the incident are currently underway. The initial information revealed that Renu and Ashish had met at a gym approximately 2-3 years before the incident occurred, he added.

More details on the case are still awaited as the investigation continues. The incident has shocked the local community, and authorities are working to gather all the necessary information to shed light on this tragic event, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka), M Harshvardhan said.
