Chefs in Delhi’s posh restaurants are creatively incorporating North Indian Hindu fasting ingredients into their culinary repertoire, introducing a fresh array of dishes to the traditional vrat-thalis.

Edesia in Crowne Plaza Okhla has also jumped on the bandwagon this Chaitra Navratri.

The thali also consisted of sweet lassi

In its Navratri-special event from April 9 – 17, it delighted guests with an exquisite array of traditional flavours and festive delicacies such as Kaddu ke Kebabs, meticulously crafted by the talented chefs of the hotel.

Central to this celebration was Sabudana that was cooked in many ways. The Sabudana Kheer stole the show.

Kaddu ki Sabzi

From the aromatic Sabudana TikkiKuttu ki Puri to the rich and flavourful Khas Khas Aloo, every item on the thali was designed to tantalise the taste buds and evoke a sense of culinary indulgence.

The Navratri Thali featured a diverse selection of dishes, ranging from the exquisite Jimikand ke Kabab to the comforting Kaddu ki Sabzi.

Navratri fasting in northern India involves abstaining from certain foods and embracing a mainly vegetarian diet.

Kofta Curry

In addition to the Navratri Thali, Crowne Plaza, Okhla, is also offering a range of refreshing beverages, energising drinks and snacks to complement the festive spread. From fruit juices to classic favourites like Sabudana Vada and Kuttu Poori, guests can indulge in a variety of festive delights throughout the duration of the event.

Chaitra Navratri, also known as the Vasanta Navratri, usually falls in the month of March or April and marks the first day of the Hindu calendar. It is a nine-day festival celebrated with great enthusiasm in northern India.
