The impact of the pandemic has been devastating for the Capital to say the least. With a total lockdown and the healthcare system almost collapsing, Delhiites and several organisations in Delhi took it upon themselves to help out in any way possible.
Radisson Blu Marina Hotel, Connaught Place took the initiative of providing food to migrant workers. They distributed over 50,000 meals during lockdown in 2020.
“In spite of having a fear of the unknown virus in 2020 and not being from a medical background, Radisson Blu Marina Staff adapted and geared up to the challenge to serve the health professionals who were on Covid duty and due to long duty hours they had taken accommodation at the hotel,” says Sudanshu Yadav, Hotel manager.
The management provided training sessions from professionals on related subjects to staff such as wearing and removing PPE kits, how to change potential infected linen, how to handle potential infected F&B amenities etc, to deal with the situation.
The staff strictly followed 20 step protocol laid by Radisson Hotel Group for safety and hygiene during this pandemic and also followed government guidelines to stop the virus from spreading while serving health professionals.
Their chef also contributed by designing nutritious and healthy menus for patients in covid care facility at Rakab Ganj Gurudwara. They have also trained Gurudwara sahib’s staff on preparing the food in the menu for speedy recovery of the patients.
