Pracheen Kala Kendra presents the 13th edition of the Guru ML Koser Festival of Music and Dance, to be held on November 28 and 29 at Kamani Auditorium. Supported by the Ministry of Culture, the festival brings together eminent musicians and dancers in tribute to the revered founder of the institution.
“This festival is our way of honouring Guru M L Koser’s legacy of nurturing Indian classical traditions,” says the Kendra. “Each year, we try to bring artists who embody both mastery and devotion.”
Day one opens with a vocal recital by Pt. Tushar Dutta, followed by a tabla jugalbandi by Pt. Arvind Kumar Azad and Pt. Parimal Chakraborty. The evening closes with a Bharatanatyam–Chhau–Kuchipudi trio by Dr. Sridhar Vasudevan, Prashant Kalia, and Ayana Mukherjee.
The second day begins with vocalist Vid. Gauri Pathare, then moves into a sitar trayavadan featuring Ustad Chhote Rahimat Khan and brothers Ustad Rafique Khan and Ustad Shafique Khan. The finale is a Kathak presentation, Krishna: The Liberator, choreographed by Guru Shama Bhate. “Krishna’s story is not just myth,” says Bhate. “It is a journey of liberation — from fear, from ego, from illusion.”
Celebrating 70 years of Pracheen Kala Kendra, this year’s edition promises a deeply immersive encounter with the classical arts.
