Indigenous art

What: Bringing to Delhi some of the best sculptural works created during an artist in- residence program in Madhya Pradesh, Art Ichol presents ‘Ceramics Bronze Stone’. Putting together works by 50 national and international artists, the show features nearly 75 works in mediums like stone, bronze and ceramic. Art Ichol is an artists’ residency in a small village in Maihar, Madhya Pradesh.

Merry market

What: It’s December and Christmas is right around the corner. The 21st edition of the German Christmas Market will offer interesting lifestyle products on sale. The two-day event will see over 90 exhibitors presenting an exclusive collection of Christmas decorations and other festive goodies. The highlights of the event are a Gingerbread house, German rooftop restaurant and dessert counter,
a beautifully decorated Christmas tree, German auto giants, German chocolates, a live band, on-the-spot painting competition for children, Christmas choirs, magic shows by a German magician, and of course, Santa Claus. So join in to be a part of the Christmas spirit.

Green Festival

What: Highlighting the raging environmental issues, the eighth edition of the Environmental Film Festival organised in collaboration with Toxics Link and Swedish Society
for Nature Conservation is back. Titled ‘Quotes from the Earth’, the three-day festival has been curated around five broad themes — biodiversity, sustainability, climate change, water and chemicals. The festival presents 28 long and short Indian and international documentaries to give the audience a better opportunity to understand and engage with critical environmental issues. Directors of some of the films will be present to introduce their films.

Grand Fiesta

What: Block your dates for the 12th edition of the Delhi International Arts Festival.
This year the festival brings brings together about 1,000 artists from 20 countries, performing at 92 events to be held at 20 venues across the city. Serving as a significant platform for cultural diplomacy, it attracts artists, writers, connoisseurs and tourists from all over the world. The festival presents all genres of music, dance, theatre, puppetry and poetry among others. The 10-day grand celebration includes a live guitar concert by Máté Palásti from Hungary, The Jazz India Circuit’s House of Waters India tour from US, a classical ballet and aerial acrobatics performance by Vilja Duo from Europe and Sarvsetah Ensemble from Iran.
