Spectacular sights
What: These breathtaking photos will make you want to pack your bags and leave for the mountains. Titled ‘Tall Tales from the Himalayas’, an exhibition of 75 carefully selected images of mountains, forests, lakes and rivers of the Himalayas, seen through the lens of Deb Mukharji over a period of six decades, will be on display. Deb Mukharji’s work has received recognition and appreciation by critics and viewers. Mukharji, who has retired from the Indian Foreign Service, is the author of Magic of Nepal, Visions of the Infinite and A Quest Beyond the Himalaya, the latter two are based on his three visits to Kailash and Mansarovar. The exhibition will largely feature black and white photographs, which is his preferred medium.

What: Block your dates to laugh out loud, for stand-up comedian Amit Tandon is all set to perform in the city and kick off his world tour. Join in to enjoy his family-appropriate humour and satirical insights on marriage with his show ‘Not Getting Wiser.’ Amit has made interesting, yet relatable observations on couples and life after marriage. Amit narrates comically, all the lessons he has learnt after arguing with his wife on school admissions and dealing with his in-laws . Prepare yourself to roll on the floor laughing with comedy that will remind you how with age, we are not getting wiser, since we are all making the same mistakes in different ways.

Staging life
What: Here’s a story on the lives of women across three generations. ‘Three Tall Women’ is a play that explores the expectations of getting old, and about coming to the end of it. The play opens to the bedroom of an old lady with a failing memory, accompanied by her middle-aged caretaker and a young lawyer. The old lady eventually succumbs to a stroke, and the play moves to her mental landscape, where her life is remembered through the shadowy vestiges of memory, and tough questions are asked. So drop in to know what happens next.
