An event callled Aarohan Festival 2023 is going to be held by Sai Shinjini Academy of Fine Arts and Culture at Kamani Auditorium on October 12, from 6 pm onwards.
Curated by Shinjini Kulkarni, a Kathak dancer, who is the granddaughter of Pt. Birju Maharaj, this festival brings together extraordinary talents from across India.
Participating in the festival are two Kathak maestros, Deepak Maharaj, representing the Lucknow gharana, and Abhimanyu Lal, representing the Jaipur gharana. Their performances are set to enthrall the audience with the grace, rhythm, and storytelling that are synonymous with this timeless dance form, the organisers said.
In addition to the captivating Kathak performances, the festival will also feature a mesmerizing display of Hindustani vocal music by Prakash Mishra and Deepak Mishra, who will represent the Benaras gharana. Their soul-stirring renditions promise to transport the audience to the heart of Indian classical music.
The entry is free for all.
