Hot chocolate, ginger bread, plum cake – Christmas simply cannot be imagined without these! This festive season, L’Opera and The Artful Baker is offering an array of delightful sweets and savories. Decked in Christmas colours one can visit or even gift their loved ones varied special hand crafted delicacies
L’Opera
One of the Capital’s favourite, L’Opera, in this Christmas season has brought back its classic selection of products encompassing Bûches (Yule log), Chocolates, Panettone, Christmas Pudding, Biscuits, Plum Cake, Alpine Nut Cake, Christmas Pudding and other festive specialties.
Not just sweets, make sure to try their savories as well that perfectly complements their cakes. From their Chicken Quiche to their Roast Vegetable and Feta Cheese Sandwich, their collections bring France to your plate.
We would like to give a special mention to their Alpine Nut cake, Panettone and Coffee Buche. Bûche (Yule log) is a traditional dessert served during the pre-Christmas dinners and luncheons and on Christmas Eve in France and in neighbouring countries. It is made of a delicate sponge-type cake and rolled up, making it look like a log. These winter specialties are a must have.
Christmas would be a miss without traditional biscuits. Adding to L’Opéra’s famous all-year line of biscuits, this season Gingerbread, Shortbread and extra nutty Hazelnut Crunch especially crafted for Christmas is a delight. Packed in a cute festive box this one makes a perfect gift. Our personal favourite in the box was the Hazelnut crunch. We just couldn’t stop reaching out for more.
L’Opéra’s festive delicacies are available in all its outlets and online. They are available for take-away and in-store consumption as well as for web orders.
The Artful Baker
A well loved patisserie – The Artful Baker has ushered in the Christmas spirit by introducing a special menu that feels like a cozy hug. Enjoy their oven fresh goodness with their evergreen Plum cake. This one tastes as good as it looks, making it a must have on Christmas.
One of their highlights is the Hazelnut Espresso Sable on the menu, which is a divine combination of hazelnut paste and espresso ganache, bound to keep you coming for more.
If you want to try something different go for their beautiful aromatic Lemon Amaretti. This one is a mixture of sweet and sour, put together in a perfect combination.
One can also relish their traditional German ‘Stollen Bread’ – buttery goodness stuffed with rum-soaked dry fruits, candied orange peel, warm winter spice and marzipan. This one is a total surprise, as you take a bite of the otherwise plain looking bread.
The brand believes in using all-natural, seasonal, and premium ingredients, with products rooted in traditional techniques and craftsmanship with a modern interpretation. With stores across the city, one can visit or even order at home.
