An exhibition that brings together twelve contemporary artists hailing from different directions of the country is going to be held at Bikaner House from July 21 to July 27. It explores the idea of how landscapes and architectural designs are perceived from an artist’s glasses.
Titled “Landscapes of Flux”, the exhibition will feature the works of artists like Diptej Vernekar, Jignesh Panchal, Madhurjya Dey, Mayadhar Sahu, Sachin Pandey, Tsering, Keerti Pooja, Leena Raj R, among others.
Each artist will bring their unique interpretation of architectural designs. Panchal’s work, for instance, blend architectural influences from a childhood spent gazing at the marvels of Indian designs.
Dey believes in the power of being pivoted at a distance, observing the sparse universe of a small town in an introspective manner. In the same breath, Sahu is a seasoned artist of substantive premise dealing with multiple mediums and perspectives at once.
A confluence of Indo-Islamic culture can be witnessed in the works of Sachin Pandey who reimagines architectural masterpieces of Hyderabad, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat, and brings forth a miniaturist’s take on this very fusion of elements.
The exhibition helps to recognise the profound impact of architecture on an artist’s perception of the world. The Modern Art Gallery, which launched the exhibition, aims to shed light on the interplay between landscapes, architectural designs, and the artistic interpretation of these elements.
“The artists participating in the exhibition have been carefully selected for their exceptional talent and their ability to push artistic boundaries. Each artist brings a unique artistic style, perspective, and cultural background, ensuring a diverse and captivating showcase of contemporary art,” says Ritu Chagti, Director of Modern Art Gallery.
