The Dhoomimal Gallery in Connaught Place will host The Past Has a Home in the Future, an art exhibition curated by Jackfruit Research and Design. Running from November 7 to December 7, the exhibition examines Connaught Place as a centre of politics and cultural production, blending historical and contemporary narratives through archival imagery, artworks, and specially commissioned projects in textiles, ceramics, visual arts, and sound.
The exhibition is structured in three sections, showcasing archival imagery alongside modern artistic expressions that pay homage to Connaught Place’s lasting impact on Delhi’s art and cultural discourse. Featured projects include Man Dressed in Connaught Place by Dhruv Vaish, which incorporates special inner linings inspired by the location, and Rema Kumar’s reinterpretations of Riten Mozumdar’s designs in silk sarees and stoles.
“Dhoomimal Gallery has long been a hub for dialogue and artistic exchange,” said Uday Jain, Director of Dhoomimal Gallery. “By combining the spirit of Connaught Place with its creative discourse, The Past Has a Home in the Future showcases the place as a nucleus of politics and cultural production. We invite art connoisseurs, enthusiasts, and critics to experience this visual journey”.
