A solo exhibition of paintings by Rabin Bar, titled Avatar, opened today at Lalit Kala Akademi, Rabindra Bhawan, Mandi House. The exhibition, which runs from January 23 to January 30, is open to visitors daily from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

Rabin Bar, an artist from Howrah, Paschimbanga, is known for his unique ability to paint with both hands and feet at the same time. His paintings in Avatar focus on important global issues like climate change, social problems, and human struggles. The artworks combine a mix of contemporary and semi-abstract styles, drawing attention to themes of resilience and hope.

Born in a small village called Amta, Rabin grew up surrounded by the natural beauty of paddy fields and rivers, which deeply influenced his art. Despite a humble background, he discovered his talent for drawing at a young age and worked hard to develop his skills. Over the years, his innovative techniques and dedication have brought him national and international recognition.

The paintings on display in Avatar are expected to draw attention for their strong messages and visual appeal. Rabin’s works often include long, expressive eyes as a symbol of vision and emotion. His use of materials like terracotta and bronze also adds a distinctive touch to his art.
