Delhi Literature Festival 2026 to begin today

The 14th edition of the Delhi Literature Festival (DLF) and Author Awards 2026 will be held from February 6 to 8 at the IGNCA Amphitheatre, Janpath. The three-day festival will revolve around the theme “Sahitya, Sanskriti aur Samriddhi” and feature literary discussions, book launches, poetry sessions and award presentations.

The festival will open on Friday, February 6, with registration followed by a tribute session titled “Kewal Jaadein Hain” in memory of late Hindi writer Vinod Kumar Shukla. The session will feature Ankush Kumar, Vijayshree Tanveer, Sushma Gupta and Harsh Vardhan Tripathi in conversation with Sangeeta Manral Vij.

The inaugural session of the Delhi Literature Festival and Author Awards 2026 will be held later in the evening. Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta will attend as the chief guest, while guests of honour include Delhi cabinet ministers Parvesh Sahib Singh and Kapil Mishra, BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj and Spain’s Ambassador to India Juan Antonio March Pujol. NDMC Chairman Keshav Chandra will deliver the keynote address. Senior journalist Harsh Vardhan Tripathi will deliver a special address, followed by the presentation of the Author Awards 2026. The day will conclude with Acharya Prashant in conversation with Rana Yashwant on his book Truth Without Apology.

The second day of the festival on Saturday, February 7, will feature multiple author interactions, including Seema Anand on Speak Easy, Anand Prasad on Unshackling the Elephant, Stuti Changle on Stars Will Guide You Home and Harini Srinivasan on Love and Confused. The day will also include a Hindi poetry session by Mukul Kumar, a discussion on Wild Capital: Discovering Nature in Delhi featuring conservationist Neha Sinha, and a session on The Wrong Way Home with Shunali Khullar Shroff.

On the concluding day, Sunday, February 8, the programme will begin with an address by Sachchidanand Joshi on his book Umeed, Manushya Zinda Hai. This will be followed by author interactions with Kevin Missal on Karna 3 and Lakshmi Murdeshwar Puri on The Sari Eternal. Delhi cabinet minister Ashish Sood will address the audience on Delhi’s new education landscape in 2026. The festival will also feature Sahitya Akademi Award winner Nilotpal Mrinal discussing Vishwa Guru, followed by a Haasya Kavi Samvad with poet and comedian Shambhu Shikhar.

The festival will conclude on Sunday evening. Organisers noted that the programme is subject to last-minute changes.
