The 17th edition of the India Art Fair will be held in New Delhi from February 5 to 8, bringing together galleries, artists and cultural institutions from India and abroad. The fair, to be hosted at the NSIC Exhibition Grounds, will feature 133 exhibitors, including 94 galleries, with 26 participating for the first time.
This year’s edition places a strong focus on dialogue around contemporary art practices, technology, ecology and material experimentation. Alongside gallery presentations, the fair will include outdoor installations, performances and a city-wide parallel programme.
The Talks Programme, curated by Shaleen Wadhwana, will feature artists, curators and museum professionals discussing the conditions shaping art-making today. Speakers include Atul Dodiya, Dayanita Singh, Tristram Hunt, Alexandra Munroe, Aindrea Emelife and Ibrahim Mahama.
Outdoor projects will include works engaging with environmental concerns, craft traditions and digital practices. These include Kulpreet Singh’s Extinction Archive, Ayush Kasliwal’s The Charpai Project developed in collaboration with AI artist Goji, and Paresh Maity’s Recycle of Life.
Performance art will also feature prominently this year through a collaboration with HH Art Spaces, bringing together performers Yuko Kaseki, Uriel Barthélémi and Suman Sridhar, whose works explore sound, movement and memory.
The fair’s parallel programme will extend beyond the venue to museums and galleries across Delhi. Among the exhibitions scheduled during this period is Ai Weiwei’s first solo exhibition in India, presented by Nature Morte.

Marking a decade of association with BMW India, the annual art commission has been awarded to Afrah Shafiq. Her project combines embroidery, digital media and augmented reality to examine women’s histories and labour.
The India Art Fair continues to serve as a meeting point for modern and contemporary art from South Asia, while situating regional practices within a wider international context.
