Traffic movement on DBG Road, Ajmal Khan Road and adjoining areas is likely to be affected from 1 pm to 7 pm due to a Janmashtami Shobha Yatra, with traffic police advising commuters to take alternate routes

Traffic movement on Delhi’s DBG Road, Ajmal Khan Road and adjoining areas is likely to be affected on Tuesday due to a Shobha Yatra being organised on the occasion of Krishna Janmashtami, police said.

The procession is scheduled to begin at 1 pm and is expected to conclude by 7 pm, according to the traffic advisory issued by Delhi Traffic Police.

Around 2,000 devotees are expected to participate in the Shobha Yatra, which will feature Raths and Jhankis, they said.

In view of the anticipated heavy influx of devotees, vehicular movement on DBG Road, Ajmal Khan Road and surrounding stretches is likely to remain slow and congestion may occur during the procession, the advisory said.

Traffic police have advised commuters to plan their journeys in advance and avoid DBG Road and Ajmal Khan Road between 1 pm and 7 pm on Tuesday to minimise inconvenience.

Road users travelling through the affected areas have been advised to use alternative routes, including Panchkuian Road and New Rohtak Road, besides other adjoining roads according to their convenience.

Commuters have also been asked to follow the directions of traffic police personnel deployed along the route and adhere to traffic signs and restrictions.
