An upcoming group exhibition, Edges of Encounter, will open on July 26 at Art Centrix Space, Vasant Kunj. Curated by Sibdas Sengupta, the show features works by seven emerging artists shortlisted for the Art Centrix Sculpture and Installation Grant 2025–26.
The exhibition explores contemporary shifts in sculptural and installation practices, highlighting experimental approaches to material, space, and form. Each artist engages with themes of memory, identity, urban decay, domestic labour, or environmental transformation—offering viewers new ways of experiencing the sculptural.
Participating artists include Geetanjali Bayan (Mumbai/Assam), Pathik Sahoo (Kolkata/Midnapore), Poojan Gupta (London/Jaipur), Prithwish Daw (Kolkata), Souvik Das (Kolkata), Sumit Naik (Goa), and Suraj Kumar Sahu (Vadodara/Odisha). Their practices span ceramics, textiles, architectural interventions, found objects, and paper-based constructions.

The Art Centrix Grant, now in its second edition, was conceived as a platform to support critical, material-led practices in sculpture and installation. One artist from the shortlist will be awarded a grant of Rs 2,00,000 and an opportunity to present a solo exhibition at the gallery in March 2026.
“Edges of Encounter reflects the need to move beyond disciplinary boundaries and understand sculptural practice as a space of affect, gesture, and encounter,” says Sengupta. “These artists are not just shaping materials — they’re shaping questions.”
