The Kiran Nadar Museum of Art (KNMA), in collaboration with St+art India Foundation, is all set to host its first-ever street festival, The Lodhi Festival in Delhi. This two-day arts celebration will take place on March 18th and 19th, 2023, in Lodhi Art District, India’s first art district, featuring 65+ murals by Indian and international artists.
The festival promises an array of exciting events, including live murals, music, performances, curated walks, and community activities. Visitors can enjoy ongoing murals on the famous Lodhi Art District walls, specially curated and commissioned by KNMA and St+art, by two talented artists, Paolo Delfin of Mexico and Andha Ras from Malaysia.
In addition, the festival will feature a shadow installation by urban artist Daku and a series of workshops, providing ample opportunities for visitors to explore different aspects of art at the street. The festival will also showcase a fantastic lineup of performers and musicians from all over India, representing a variety of styles and traditions.
Kiran Nadar, Chairperson of Kiran Nadar Museum of Art, expressed her excitement about the festival and the museum’s efforts to take art outside of the museum space, making it more accessible to the public and celebrating India’s vibrant cultural and artistic heritage.
She said that the Lodhi Festival is an extension of the museum’s vision of bridging the gap between art and the public and encouraging viewers to explore different aspects of art at the crossroads of culture and performance.
The festival is free to attend and visitors can register for workshops through online mode.
