Everything fun

What: Block your dates to enjoy some of the best food the city has to offer. Just ‘Bring Your Own Hunger’, and the BYOH food festival has the rest covered. The festival promises to take you through some of Delhi’s authentic offerings and food inventions all under one roof. From the by-lanes of Old Delhi to the fine diners of south Delhi and the funky cafes in the north; you are sure to find everything here. Not just food, the festival has also curated a mini flea market with fashion accessories, handcrafted home décor products, gifting options, quirky stationeries and more. BYOH also has a play zone with play station and PubG. Enjoy your food and groove to the music of Jassie Gill and Babbal Rai, rocking the Christmas night to DJ Barkha and Sumit.
When: December 23 – 25 (12 pm – 10 pm)
Where: Ansal Plaza, South Extension

Staging reality

What: Against the backdrop of militancy and the social problems of contemporary India, here’s a play that subtly brings to the front, human predicaments of an upper-class urban family dealing with the accidental death of their son and the struggle to find meaning in their shattered lives. In a state where efforts by the marginalised to fight injustice, often take a violent turn, the play explores the human cost of such protests – not just at a societal level but also at a personal one. The play is the Hindi translation of the original in English titled Running on Empty by Rahul Seth.
When: January 5
Where: Shri Ram Centre for Performing Arts, Mandi House

Make merry

What: What’s Christmas without food, drinks and dancing? The Irish House is geared up for Christmas and is hosting a special menu, along with two different drinks’ menu, to make festivity a little more spirited. From spinach and cheese tortellini, mushroom ragout puff, cheesy potato skins with turkey ham and crispy bacon, roast chicken with blueberry balsamic sauce, grilled brussels sprouts and pork ribs with cranberry apple sauce, they have it all. Along with food, a range of festive cocktails — like the winter sangria, earlgrey and blackberry martini, Christmas toddy, Irish butterbeer. For all the teetotalers, there will be drinks like bon-bon orange shake, caramel hot chocolate and even a non-alcoholic butterbeer.
