What: Born to a musical family in a hill town in Himachal, Vidushi Sunanda Sharma embraced music under the guidance of her father Pandit Sudarshan Sharma. A renowned vocalist of Banaras gharana, Sunanda is set to perform the Purab Ang Gayaki, along with kathak recital by Neelakshi Raiv. Her performance will take the audience through a musical journey that will depict every element she is made up of — her roots, her life and her evolution as an artiste all woven together for an evening to remember. Through musical affairs like this, she wants to make the younger generation appreciate Indian classical music.

What: Music and dance lovers in Delhi, block your dates for ‘Connections 2019’ — a unique international boutique performing arts festival, featuring outstanding performances for the past five years in the Capital. Bringing together outstanding artists and their award-winning performances from China and France to the city, they are all set to enthrall the audience. Thrilling music by the Remi Panossian Jazz Trio from France and magical Chinese dance by the Beijing Dance Academy will pulsate the evening for three days. ‘Connections’ is the brain child of acclaimed choreographer and dancer Rukmini Chatterjee, who was instrumental in bringing the Beijing Dance Academy, one of the premier dance institutes of the world, to India for the first time.

What: Indian Cancer Society’s annual fund-raising series ‘Artistes Against Cancer’ has made a departure from music and dance performances, to stage a play this time – Monsters In The Dark, a stage adaption of Siddhartha Mukherjee’s magnum opus The Emperor of all Maladies: A Biography of Cancer. The Pulitzer Prize-winning book is brought to life on stage to talk about something as complex as cancer. The play makes an effort to tell the story of cancer as it is — the trials, tribulations and the magic that human endurance can bring about in the fight against this beast. Join in to get a peek into the lives of some of the people who shaped the war on cancer. Being performed by Bangalore Little Theatre, it has been developed through a collaborative project with Tata Memorial Centre.
