Indo-France connect
What: Covering a span of six decades, this exhibition features artist Sakti Burman’s artistic journey since 1950s to 2016. Burman grew up in Bangladesh and has been living in France for the last five decades — exhibiting his works in France as well as India and maintained a strong connection with the country. Inspired by the drawings of Leonardo da Vinci, Rembrandt, Ingres, Picasso and Matisse his drawings, sketching, and watercolors, his works are on display at the exhibition. Inspired by surrealism, his works are populated by humans, animals, cityscapes that are dreamlike in appearance. The show aims to display artist’s intricate use of pen, ink and watercolour on paper. There is an amalgamation of mythical and real in his artworks, which is done flawlessly. His cultural bonding with Bengal and with its people orchestrates a fine link between imagination and experience.

A nation’s trauma
What: Presented by the Museum of the Second World War, Poland and the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs — the ‘Fight and Suffering’ exhibition is a project of the Museum of the Second World War in partnership with the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The exhibition has been on display from September 1 in six continents and presents Poland’s experience of WW-II, highlighting the tragedy of war and the efforts of the Polish military to regain the country’s independence. The exhibition aims to raise awareness of the Polish citizens’ struggle against the overwhelming forces of the aggressors and then occupiers.
