India International Centre, in collaboration with Azim Premji University, presents, ‘Baba Saheb : An Extraordinary Philatelic Journey (1966-2022)’. The exhibition brings together the archives of the philatelic afterlife of Ambedkar. It follows his journey of being the first Dalit person to be honoured with commemorative stamp. The show is curated by Vikas Kumar and focuses on three periods. The first period begins with the issue of the commemorative stamp in 1966 and ends with another in 1991 after he was awarded Bharat Ratna. The second period marks his entry into the philatelic pantheon, and the third period celebrates him as a pan-India leader, tracing his journey across the country. The exhibition also includes a walk by the curator.
