‘Sadhya’, a group of contemporary dancers, will enthrall those who have a penchant for dance with its fusion performances combing both traditional and modern forms.
The two-day performances come as the group will obeserve its silver jubilee celebrations on May 29 – 30.
Over the years, Sadhya has managed to create a link between heritage and modernity through its predictions.
The two fusion performances are ‘The Mystical Forest’ (May 29) and ‘The Game of Dice’ (May 30).
In “The Mystical Forest,” a contemporary dance performance, the forest’s inhabitants are explored. The output reflects the many experiences, endeavours, sentiments, rites, and connections of the locals.
A whole universe of its own, which at times is wary of any outside interruptions, is attempted to be brought to the audience through its music, choreography, movement, lighting, and costumes.
The Game of Dice is a dance show that introduces the audience to a new aesthetic by bringing art back with a zing. It takes inspiration from conventional dance styles and unites energy, restraint, and inventiveness via a story from Mahabharat.
Santosh Nair is the choreographer for both shows. Santosh Nair, who has been trained as both a traditional and modern dancer, has demonstrated his expertise in the field of dance and choreography by developing his own distinct style. Nair has earned his credentials as a performer and a choreographer over the years, and he will be displaying some of his most known works in commemoration of Sadhya.
