Designer and artist Raseel Gujral Ansal will present a new exhibition, Is This My Circus?, at the Travancore Palace here from September 24 to 28.
The show brings together sculptures, paintings and installations that explore ideas of identity, performance and spectacle. At the entrance, three large figures titled Devi, Diva and Damsel will be displayed, representing different archetypes of the feminine. Inside, the works are arranged as a series of themed sections including My Raj, War of the Roses, Diamonds Are Forever and Rose Tinted Glasses.
The exhibition also places Raseel’s work in conversation with that of her father, the late artist Satish Gujral. Four of his works from her private collection will be shown alongside her pieces. In addition, six monkey sculptures by Ketan Amin have been included as part of the display.
