A group exhibition titled Le Salon Collectif – A Contemporary Perspective, organised by The Art Qurious (TAQ), will open at the AIFACS Gallery, New Delhi, on January 31. Curated by Sangita Rajani, the exhibition will remain on view till February 13.
The exhibition draws inspiration from the 18th-century Paris Salon, presenting works in a “salon-style” arrangement that adorns walls from floor to ceiling. Moving beyond minimalist conventions, it creates a dense, immersive dialogue that celebrates the abundance and diversity of contemporary Indian art.
The fifteen participating artists—Amit Das, Anil Kumar, Arun Sharma, Ashok Juttu, Bhuwal Prasad, Kiran Sharekhane, Puja Duggal-Khanna, Raj Chowdhary, Rajesh Shrivastava, Sandeep More, Sangita Kodimyala, Shanmukh Tamada, Tushar Waghela, Dhuli Venkatesh Yadav, and Yashwant Singh—explore a range of philosophical, spiritual, and emotional narratives through varied techniques and materials.
Bhuwal Prasad fuses tribal aesthetics with ancestral storytelling, creating canvases described as “modern cave walls” where humans and mythical creatures intertwine. Ashok Juttu employs found materials such as coral, soil, and rusted nails to trace the passage of time and the ephemeral beauty of decay. Tushar Waghela draws from the Bhagavad Gita, exploring the spiritual bond between labourers and their tools, capturing a unity between creator, instrument, and prāṇa.

Sangita Rajani notes that the exhibition seeks to “break away from the silence of modern minimalism” and provide a dynamic space where artists present bold visions that provoke thought, delight the senses, and invite audiences into a rich communal dialogue.
The exhibition will be formally inaugurated in the presence of art professionals and cultural figures.
