Capital’s Mount Cricket Club, which plays in the Premier 1 division of the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) league, is set to host its annual day at the Civil Services Officers’ Institute, Chanakyapuri on Saturday.

Formerly known as the ‘Inborn Club’ that began in 1981, it has given a couple of under-19 players to the Delhi team over the last year. DDCA president Rohan Jaitley, as well as, former India cricketer Madan Lal, will be present on the occasion, which will also be attended by coaches from the Capital.

“We are hosting the annual day on such a large scale for the first time. Earlier, it used to be a get-together of family members of club’s coaches as well as players. This time we are inviting officials and coaches who have played a key role in the development of cricket in Delhi” said Abhishek Mankotia, the secretary of the club, who is also a BCCI level 1 and National Institute Sports certified.

Talented players in different age groups, coaches as well as those who have contributed to the club and Delhi cricket will be felicitated.

“We are also felicitating two women players from the club. One of them is representing Himachal Pradesh in BCCI women’s domestic cricket while the other has been shortlisted in Delhi’s under-15 girls’ squad. We are giving training to 10 girls across all centres free of cost. Any girl who wants to train with us can approach us and won’t be charged anything. Sometimes we provide free kits/equipment to needy girls,” he added.

When: From 11 am to 2.30 pm, 12 November
