Nritya Vandan 2026, a celebration of classical Kathak, is set to take place at Triveni Kala Sangam on March 29. Organised by Samarpan Kala Kendra in association with Indian Cultural Gigs, the evening promises a rich showcase of rhythm, expression and traditional artistry in one of the capital’s most prominent cultural spaces.

The performances will unfold at the Triveni Auditorium in Mandi House, bringing together the intricate footwork, fluid movements and storytelling traditions that define Kathak. Beginning at 5 PM, the event aims to present both the technical depth and emotive range of the classical dance form.

The highlight of the evening will be a solo Kathak recital by Nrityamayi Ritu Gupta, a seasoned practitioner known for her command over the form. The concept and choreography have been designed by Guru Rani Khanum, whose artistic direction anchors the performance in a deep-rooted understanding of Kathak’s traditions.

The recital will be accompanied by a live musical ensemble featuring vocals by Shuheb Hasan, tabla by Haseen Khan and sarangi by Amir Khan, creating an immersive classical soundscape integral to the performance.

In addition to the main recital, the event will provide a platform for emerging dancers from Samarpan Kala Kendra and Aamad Dance Centre. Disciples of both Nrityamayi Ritu Gupta and Guru Rani Khanum will present group performances, reflecting their training and artistic growth. Ananya, a teacher at Samarpan Kala Kendra, will also present a solo act.

A special performance by Sara Ali, daughter of Guru Rani Khanum, will add a personal and intergenerational dimension to the evening, bringing together legacy and contemporary expression on stage.

The evening will be graced by Shri Ravinder Mishra as the Chief Guest.

The event will begin at 5 PM at Triveni Kala Sangam, New Delhi, and is expected to draw classical dance enthusiasts from across the city.
