Renaissance 2026, a two-day celebration of India’s diverse performing arts traditions, is set to take place at the India Habitat Centre on April 14 and 15. Organised by the Light Sense Art Foundation, the festival brings together classical and contemporary dance forms in a curated showcase of movement, music and storytelling.

Bringing together acclaimed performers and emerging voices, the festival aims to create an immersive cultural experience that reflects both the depth of India’s artistic heritage and its evolving contemporary expressions. Through a blend of solo and ensemble presentations, the event seeks to highlight the dialogue between tradition and innovation.

The programme will feature a distinguished lineup of artists across genres, including Narayan Sharma presenting contemporary dance, Sangeeta Chatterjee in Kathak, Unni Vishwanathan and Vishnupriya Amarnath in Mohiniyattam, Gauri Diwakar, a SNA Yuva Awardee, Guru Sudarshan Sahoo in Odissi, and Nanda Kumar presenting Bharatanatyam and choreography. Each performance brings a unique artistic perspective, reflecting the richness of India’s movement traditions.

The evenings will include thematic productions and interdisciplinary collaborations that combine dance with music, lighting design and narrative elements. A special felicitation segment will honour excellence in artistic presentation, including the Light Designer Award 2026.

The festival will be graced by distinguished guests including Piyush Goyal, Minister of Commerce and Industry of India; Tuhin Sinha, author and BJP national spokesperson; Murugan Krishnan, recipient of the Light Designer Award 2026; and Ashok Kumar Tiwari of Sanskar Bharthi.

Festival Director Milind Srivastava noted that Renaissance 2026 is envisioned as a platform to celebrate artistic revival, bringing multiple traditions onto a single stage while encouraging creative exchange between classical forms and contemporary choreography.
