Shaan, Jasleen Royal to enthrall audience at ASEAN India Music Festival 2024

Bollywood singers Shaan, Jasleen Royal, Raghu Dixit, and the dynamic duo Sukriti-Prakriti, among others, are set to rock Purana Qila in New Delhi with their performances during the ASEAN India Music Festival 2024.

This three-day event will kick off on November 29 and run through December 1. It is being organised by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, in collaboration with Seher.

“On November 29, the event will feature performances by two of India’s most beloved music icons, Raghu Dixit and Shaan. The festival’s energy will continue on November 30 with vibrant performances by the Western Ghats and the dynamic sibling duo Sukriti-Prakriti, whose eclectic mix of sounds promises an exciting experience. The festival will conclude on December 1 with a soulful performance by Jasleen Royal, known for her emotive melodies that have resonated with music lovers around the world,” the organisers said in a statement.

This year’s festival will showcase a captivating blend of top Indian artists and talented ASEAN bands, providing a unique opportunity to experience diverse musical traditions.

The ASEAN India Music Festival 2024 will celebrate 10 years of India’s Act East Policy. “As a vibrant platform for cultural exchange, the festival celebrates a decade of deepening ties between India and the ASEAN region.”

In addition to the Indian performers, the festival will feature an impressive line-up of ASEAN bands, allowing audiences to experience the rich musical traditions of the region. The ASEAN artists set to perform include Television Off from Thailand, Buc Tuong from Vietnam, Floor 88 from Malaysia, Subsonic Eye from Singapore, Chet Kanhchna from Cambodia, MRTV from Myanmar, and KAIA from the Philippines, among others. These performances will highlight the musical diversity of the ASEAN region and underscore the growing cultural connection between India and ASEAN.

“The ASEAN-India Music Festival is more than just a celebration of music; it symbolises the deep cultural ties within the ASEAN-India Comprehensive Strategic Partnership,” the organisers said.

The festival will be graced by the Union Minister of External Affairs S Jaishankar, as the chief guest, along with senior officials from the Ministry of External Affairs and the Heads of Missions from all 10 ASEAN Member States.

Sanjeev Bhargava, Founder and Director of Seher, expressed, “The ASEAN India Music Festival is a beautiful reminder that despite our different backgrounds, music has the power to unite us all. It allows us to connect not only as artists but also as individuals who are part of a much larger global community.”

“This festival is not just about showcasing talent, but about celebrating the bonds we’ve built over the years and the new ones we’ll form through the universal language of melody,” he added.

As the festival draws nearer, excitement continues to build. The 2024 edition promises to be a vibrant celebration of togetherness, creativity, and the unique way music brings people closer, regardless of their backgrounds.
