Galerie NIFA will present an art exhibition titled “Soulmate” at LTC Bikaner House, New Delhi, from September 7 to 10. The show has been curated by Renu Khera, Founder and Director of NIFA Art Academy.

The four-day show will feature works by more than 20 leading and emerging Indian artists, bringing together a rare mix of modern masters, contemporary figures, and indigenous voices.

The line-up includes iconic names such as M.F. Husain, S H Raza, Ram Kumar, B. Prabha, Krishen Khanna, Manu Parekh, Shanti Dave, A. Ramachandran, and G R Iranna. A special section highlights the work of Balu Jivya Mashe, who continues the Warli art tradition pioneered by his father, Padma Shri awardee Jivya Soma Mashe.

Khera described the exhibition as an intimate journey through her decades-long engagement with art. “I have always believed that art is a soulmate – a companion that mirrors our innermost thoughts, emotions, and journeys. Soulmate is my invitation to the world to connect with the timeless beauty and evolving narrative of Indian art,” she said.

The exhibition will span paintings, sculptures, and mixed media works, exploring themes that range from abstraction and spirituality to identity, social memory, and indigenous traditions.

Contemporary artists such as G R Iranna, Biplab Biswas, and Sanghapal Mhaske bring diverse perspectives to the showcase. Iranna’s meditative canvases juxtapose fragility and resilience through symbolic forms like blossoming trees and the sacred Nandi. Biswas reimagines feminine divinity in bold colours and lyrical compositions, while Mhaske captures the rhythms of urban life in textured, luminous tones.

A highlight is Balu Jivya Mashe’s intricate Warli compositions, which transform ritual patterns into contemporary visual poetry, reinforcing the link between nature, community, and cosmic order.
