Rini’s Music and Dance School will present Tapah-Siddhi (Fulfillment of Austerity), a Kathak dance drama inspired by the sacred journey of Goddess Parvati. The performance will be held at The Apparel House, Sector 44, Gurugram, on August 8.
The production narrates the story of Sati’s reincarnation as Parvati, daughter of the Himalayas, and her unwavering devotion and rigorous penance to attain Lord Shiva. The mythological tale is brought to life through intricate Kathak footwork, expressive abhinaya and narrative storytelling, highlighting themes of faith, perseverance and divine love.
Padma Shri Guru Shovana Narayan will grace the occasion as the chief guest. The evening aims to celebrate Indian classical dance while presenting a timeless tale from Hindu mythology through a contemporary stage production.
