This solo exhibition titled “Unwind” depicts an artist’s ability to communicate freely across all boundaries whether they are spiritual or material.

Twelve paintings and some photographs of Burcu Turan Kar will be presented in this solo exhibition. The series of paintings by Turan explores the liberation of the soul from the subconscious shackles of material feelings and emotions. They also seek to blur the line between physical and spiritual entities. The artist captures the experience of being lost with the usage of colors. In this way, she navigates her way through art. Her paintings are fascinating and give a sense of something mysterious.

Earlier Turan has displayed her paintings and photographs to the world through several exhibitions in Turkey. According to art critic Suneet Chopra, Turan’s art is characterized by brush strokes, effective drawing and a complex palette of colours. Her fascination for depth of light and shadow with vibrant contrasting colours makes her paintings mysterious, Chopra remarks.

When: December 9 – December 11, 2022
