The Kiran Nadar Museum of Art (KNMA) presents its latest multi-artist exhibition titled ‘Very Small Feelings’. It is the fourth exhibition in the ‘Young Artists of Our Times’ series, and is in collaboration with the Samdani Art Foundation, Dhaka.

A curatorial collaboration between Rastogi (Senior Curator, KNMA), Campbell (Chief Curator, Dhaka Art Summit) Ruxmini Choudhury (Assistant Curator, Samdani Art Foundation), Avik Debdas and Swati Kumari (Curatorial and Research Associates, KNMA), this exhibition was first displayed at the Dhaka Art Summit in February this year.

Roobina Karode, Director and Chief Curator at KNMA, says, “‘Very Small Feelings’ is nurtured by a dynamic working and collaborative effort between curators Akansha Rastogi and Diana Campbell, with the coming together of two institutions in South Asia, the Kiran Nadar Museum of Art and Samdani Art Foundation. For viewers, the exhibition tends to become a space for action, emotion, exploration and reflection, with works of diverse scale, material and content.”

The exhibition explores the theme of childhood and its significance as a mutable space that one can enter and exit at will. It brings together artists, child-artists, and visitors to envision and construct environments, architectural spaces, and various emotional intensities. Through play, storytelling, participation, and deliberate engagement, the exhibition aims to tap into the inner child that resides within each of us, forging a strong connection.

With a focus on oral traditions and the generative power of storytelling, “Very Small Feelings” features a diverse array of forty-two projects. These include new commissions, historical works, performances, books, personal and institutional archives, artist-inspired installations, and immersive landscapes.

Among the participating artists and projects featured in the exhibition are Ade Dianita and Aditya Novali, Afrah Shafiq, Afra Eisma, Ahmet Ogut, Ali Sethi, Amitav Ghosh, Salman Toor and Ali Sethi / Junglenama, Anga Art Collective, Anpu Varkey, Artreach-KNMA Teaching Fellowship, Ashfika Rahman, Atreeye Dey, Blaise Joseph and NEG Fire, BenodeBehari Mukherjee, Chittaprosad, David Horvitz, Devi Prasad and Art Education at Sevagram/Nai Talim, Driant Zeneli, Ganesh Pyne, Ghazaleh Avarzamani, Joydeb Roaja, Roman Ondak, Ha Bik Chuen, Irushi Tennekoon, Jani Ruscica, Jessy Razafimandimby, Kabir, Ahmed Masum Chisty, Kelly Sinnaphah Mary, Lapdiang Syiem, Leela Mukherjee, Lokesh Khodke, Marzia Farhana, Matthew Krishanu, Mong Mong Sho, Murari Jha, Neha Choksi, Nidhi Khurana, Prasad Shetty and Rupali Gupte, Sanjoy Chakraborty, Samina Mishra / The Magic Key Centre, Simon Fujiwara, Susanta Mandal, Satyajit Ray, Thao Nguyễn Phan, and Yasmin Jahan Nupur.
