The city’s air quality showed significant improvement, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) declining to 392, categorised as ‘very poor’, compared to 429 on Friday, as per Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data. The weather office has forecasted dense fog over the weekend, which will likely reduce visibility further. However, light to moderate rainfall is expected on December 26, which could bring temporary relief from the toxic air.

An AQI between zero and 50 is considered ‘good’, 51 and 100 ‘satisfactory’, 101 and 200 ‘moderate’, 201 and 300 ‘poor’, 301 and 400 ‘very poor’, and 401 and 500 ‘severe’.
