Kuchipudi dancer Yamini Reddy will present her latest work, Anantarupah – The Infinite, on November 7 at Kamani Auditorium. The performance is inspired by Lord Vishnu’s many forms, celebrating his endless manifestations, from Narsimha, the fierce half-man, half-lion, to Rama, the noble prince.
Reddy expressed her excitement about returning to Delhi after a long break, “I am very delighted to be performing in Delhi. For this performance, I wanted to present something very fresh and nice. It is a mix of some old pieces and some new pieces which I’ve not presented before”.

The solo performance includes a piece drawn from Yakshaganam, a traditional dance drama, as well as a fusion of North Indian Hindustani music with Kuchipudi dance, blending two distinct Indian art forms.
Reddy elaborated on her theme, stating, “The theme is Anantarupa, which is the infinite because I will be dancing about the various forms of Lord Vishnu, focusing on two avatars: Rama and Narsimha”.
She explained the unique elements of her performance, “I will be presenting the Ramayana with a lot of role playing and even dialogues, which are intrinsic to Kuchipudi. This item will be in Hindi and will feature the famous bhajan, Bhajaman Ramacharan Sukhadai by Tulsidas”.
Reddy will also present the Narsimha avatar in a traditional piece, “a condensed form” of the story of Prahalada and Narasimha. “This piece will be presented in its most unique heritage and traditional form, with Telugu lyrics and Sanskrit verses,” Reddy told Patriot.
