Artist Kavita Chopra Dikshit’s solo exhibition, Enchanted Forests, is set to open at the Open Palm Court, India Habitat Centre, on November 15. Curated by Jyoti A Kathpalia, the exhibit features a series of oil-on-canvas works that explore the deep interconnection between forests and human life, drawing from the artist’s early years spent amidst the natural landscapes of Gomia, Jharkhand.
Chopra Dikshit’s paintings reflect her memories of forests, rivers, and hills that were integral to her childhood. She sees her work as a tribute to these landscapes and a call to protect them. “The Enchanted Forests series is also a reminder that these forests are the very source for life on this planet and need to be protected,” she said. “They are complex ecosystems that are impossible to replicate and take hundreds of years to form.” Her art emphasises both the beauty and the fragility of these spaces, urging viewers to consider the importance of environmental preservation.
The exhibition will be open to the public from November 16 to 19, 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, following an inaugural event on November 15 at 5:30 PM, where environmentalists and other dignitaries will discuss the urgency of forest conservation.

With a background in photography, digital art, and television production, Chopra Dikshit brings an interdisciplinary perspective to her art. After studying sociology at St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai, and mass communication at Sophia College, she pursued a master’s in TV production from Clarion University, USA, and later worked at CNN in Atlanta. Now based in New Delhi, she runs her graphic design studio, Red Design Company.
“Kavita Chopra Dikshit’s canvases tell stories of love, loss, and nostalgia,” said curator Jyoti A Kathpalia. “Her intricate brushstrokes and vibrant colours evoke nature, painting life itself”.
