On the occasion of the 77th anniversary of India’s independence, the heart of the nation radiated with patriotic fervour as iconic landmarks were transformed into vivid spectacles of the Tricolour. India Gate, Parliament Building, the historic North Block and South Block, along with other significant monuments in the Capital, were bathed in hues of saffron, white, and green, embodying the spirit of freedom.
With the 77th Independence Day celebrations slated for Tuesday, August 15, the national capital hummed with anticipation and energy. The city witnessed intensified security arrangements, ensuring the safety of all participants and attendees. The resounding echoes of pride reverberated through the streets as full dress rehearsals featuring the valiant armed forces unfolded at the iconic Red Fort on a vibrant Sunday.
A distinguished assembly of around 1,800 special guests, including sarpanchs, khadi workers, primary school teachers, and compassionate nurses, have been extended invitations to partake in the grandeur of the 77th Independence Day celebrations in New Delhi. This diverse gathering underscores the inclusivity and shared heritage that binds the nation.
With the theme of “Meri Mati, Mera Desh” campaign, this year’s celebrations resonate with the soul of the nation, echoing the essence of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. The festival marks a tribute to the past and a celebration of the future as a spectrum of engaging programmes unfurls, displaying the values that define the land.
Guiding the nation through the festivities, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will ascend the Red Fort to deliver a poignant address, encapsulating the aspirations of millions. The Prime Minister’s presence will further encompass an inspection of the Guard of Honour, followed by the solemn unfurling of the National Flag.
Among the iconic monuments awash in the Tricolour’s embrace, the Qutub Minar stood tall, enveloped in the saffron, white, and green hues. A symphony of light and color also resonated in the ambiance.
The steadfast Safdarjung’s Tomb also emerged as a beacon of national pride, joining the league of monuments brilliantly illuminated in Tricolour during India’s Independence celebrations.
Prime Minister Modi’s resounding endorsement of the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign underlines this year’s narrative.
