After two years of departure from its bustling nature, Delhi’s Sadar Bazaar witnessed its festive crowd as Diwali approached. With the crowd arrived the gift of business for the traders.

This year’s Diwali season, which was hit hard by coronavirus pandemic, brings back joy and significant opportunity to make up for the lost business in the past years.

With Diwali just around the corner, revellers have gone out in significant numbers in Delhi’s major marketplaces. Despite tough competition and a vast reach, the markets have lost a considerable number of consumers, but the centuries-old markets have retained their aura and commerce.

In the country’s capital, there are several marketplaces. Every neighbourhood has its own, but when Diwali arrives, the largest crowd congregates at Delhi’s Sadar Bazaar, the city’s cheapest market. While in reality, items are sold at wholesale rate here, some sellers at Sadar Bazaar sell at retail price, as well.

While this market sells jewellery, home décor, and cooking products, it is also known for selling low-cost technological gadgets. From kitchen equipment to lights for Diwali house décor, everything is believed to be available in Sadar, thus, making it the best spot for Diwali shopping.
