As Sri Lanka gears up for the 3rd ODI against India, they stand on the brink of historic achievement. The last time Sri Lanka achieved this feat was back in 1997.

Sri Lanka’s recent success comes after a disappointing T20I series, where they struggled against the likes of SKY and his team. The turnaround in the ODI series has been unexpected, with Sri Lanka showing resilience and skill both with the bat and ball. Their clinical performance in the 2nd ODI, where they defeated India by 36 runs, has positioned them strongly for a series win.

For India, this series has turned into a critical challenge. The team, led by Rohit Sharma, needs to address their recent batting inconsistencies. With the Champions Trophy on the horizon, it’s essential for the Indian team to regain their winning form and avoid a series defeat.

The loss in the 2nd ODI is particularly stinging for India, a team used to success. Gautam Gambhir, who began his tenure as India’s head coach with an undefeated record, now faces the prospect of his first series defeat. The pressure is on for Gambhir and his team to bounce back and secure a victory in the final ODI to avoid an embarrassing series loss.

As the teams prepare for the decisive match, all eyes will be on Sri Lanka to see if they can capitalize on their current momentum and on India to see if they can turn their fortunes around.
