India vs Australia Champions Trophy Semi-Final:: Team India is set to face Australia in the first semi-final of the Champions Trophy in Dubai on Tuesday. However, India’s extended stay in Dubai throughout the tournament has sparked debate among cricket experts, who argue that it gave them an edge in adapting to the conditions compared to other teams.
To counter any perceived advantage, the semi-final will now be played on a fresh pitch, aiming to level the playing field.

Rohit Sharma Dismisses ‘Home Advantage’ Claims
Addressing the issue, India’s captain Rohit Sharma dismissed suggestions that Dubai had become a ‘home venue’ for his team. He emphasised that the pitches in Dubai had posed different challenges in each game.
“Every time, the pitch presents different challenges. The three matches we played here, the surface behaved differently each time. This is not our home, this is Dubai. We don’t play many matches here, and it’s new for us as well,” Rohit stated in a pre-match press conference.
Aakash Chopra’s Advice: Bat First If Winning the Toss
Former India batter Aakash Chopra weighed in on the conditions, advising Rohit Sharma to opt for batting first if he wins the toss.
With multiple pitches being used throughout the tournament, unpredictability has been a key factor. Rohit acknowledged this, saying, “We don’t know which pitch will be used for the semi-final. We’ll have to adapt and play accordingly.”
India has already experienced a mix of conditions, including unexpected swing and spin variations. Rohit pointed out how the pitch behaved differently in each of their group games, saying, “Against New Zealand, there was some swing, which we didn’t see in the first two games. The last match didn’t offer much spin, but today, we saw some.”
