Garmin has expanded its India portfolio with the launch of two premium GPS smartwatches, the Forerunner 970 and Forerunner 570, aimed at runners and multi-sport athletes. Both watches feature AMOLED displays, built-in speakers and microphones for calls and voice assistance, personalised workouts, recovery insights and advanced navigation tools. The Forerunner 970 is priced at Rs 90,990, while the Forerunner 570 costs Rs 66,990. Both models are now available through Garmin India’s website.

The Forerunner 970 comes in a single 47mm case size and is offered in three finishes — carbon grey with black/whitestone band, titanium with whitestone/yellow band, and soft gold with grey/indigo band. It is equipped with full-colour mapping, multi-band GPS, and turn-by-turn navigation. Garmin claims up to 15 days of battery life in smartwatch mode. The watch uses a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal lens with a titanium bezel and includes a built-in LED flashlight for low-light conditions. Training features include Running Tolerance, which measures weekly load capacity; Running Economy, which tracks energy efficiency when paired with Garmin’s HRM 600 heart rate monitor; and Step Speed Loss, which assesses pace loss at foot strike. Garmin Coach Adaptive Training supports triathlon, running and strength sessions, adjusting workout plans dynamically based on performance, recovery and daily health data.

The Forerunner 570 is available in two case sizes — 42mm and 47mm — and comes in six colour options. It features Garmin’s brightest AMOLED display to date with an aluminium bezel. The watch offers advanced running analytics, including training status, wrist-based running power, VO₂ max, performance condition and acute load, along with adaptive daily workout suggestions. It also incorporates a Sleep Coach that provides a daily sleep score, personalised rest recommendations and detailed sleep stage tracking. Battery life is rated at up to 11 days in smartwatch mode and up to 18 hours in GPS mode. Safety tools include incident detection during select outdoor activities and an assistance feature that sends live location updates to emergency contacts.
