Google has unveiled the much-anticipated Pixel 9a in India, priced at Rs 49,999. Breaking tradition, the Pixel A series has arrived earlier than usual, following the early launch of the Pixel 9 series. Powered by Google’s in-house Tensor G4 chipset, the Pixel 9a brings significant hardware improvements and design refinements, making it an attractive option for users looking for a feature-rich, mid-range smartphone with flagship capabilities.

Google Pixel 9a: Specifications and Features

The Pixel 9a introduces notable upgrades in both design and performance. Departing from its signature camera bar, Google has opted for a refreshed look while enhancing durability with an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. The device boasts a 6.3-inch Actua pOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 2700 nits peak brightness, making it 35% brighter than its predecessor, the Pixel 8a.

Under the hood, the Google Tensor G4 chipset, paired with the Titan M2 security chip, ensures smooth performance and robust security. The smartphone also integrates various Google AI-powered features, including Gemini AI, Circle to Search, Magic Eraser, and Audio Magic Erase, for an enhanced user experience.

In terms of optics, the Pixel 9a sports a dual-camera setup featuring a 48MP main sensor and a 13MP ultra-wide lens. On the front, a 13MP selfie camera ensures sharp and detailed selfies. Powering the device is a 5,100mAh battery with 33W wired charging support, offering long-lasting battery life.

The Pixel 9a will ship with Android 15 out of the box, and Google promises seven years of OS updates and Pixel Drops, ensuring extended software support.

Google Pixel 9a: Price and Availability

The Pixel 9a will be available in four colour options: Peony, Iris, Porcelain, and Obsidian. The 8GB + 128GB variant is priced at Rs 49,999, while the 8GB + 256GB model costs Rs 56,999. Customers can also avail Rs 3,000 cashback and 24-month no-cost EMI with select bank offers.

The smartphone will go on sale starting April 2025, exclusively on Flipkart.
