Lava has expanded its Play series with the launch of the Lava Play Max, a performance-focused smartphone aimed at users who prioritise gaming and heavy multitasking. The handset features a 6.72-inch full HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate and runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset, paired with a 5,000mAh battery. Lava claims the device is the first in its segment to include a vapour chamber, allowing the phone to maintain stable temperatures during demanding usage.

The Lava Play Max will be available in 6GB and 8GB RAM variants, both offering 128GB of UFS 3.1 storage, which can be expanded up to 1TB. The company has priced the 6GB model at Rs 12,999, while the 8GB version will cost Rs 14,499. It will be offered in two colour options — Deccan Black and Himalayan White. Lava has not announced a specific sale date or online platforms yet but has confirmed that the smartphone will go on sale later this month.

On the imaging front, the phone comes with a 50MP rear camera equipped with electronic image stabilisation, along with an 8MP front camera. It runs on Android 15 and is powered by a 5,000mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging. The device also carries an IP54 rating for dust and splash resistance. Like other Lava devices, the Play Max includes access to the company’s free home service support across India.

In terms of core specifications, the Lava Play Max offers a 6.72-inch full HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate, the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset, up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM, 128GB of expandable storage, a 50MP rear camera and an 8MP front shooter. The smartphone runs Android 15 and is backed by a 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging, while an IP54 rating adds a layer of durability.
