OPPO F31 5G Series: OPPO India has expanded its popular F-series with the launch of the F31 5G line-up, comprising the F31 Pro+, F31 Pro and F31. The company is pitching the new range as its most durable and performance-focused smartphones in the mid-segment, with prices starting at Rs 22,999.

The highlight of the series is its rugged design. Built with aerospace-grade aluminium alloy and AGC DT-Star D+ glass, the phones feature a 360° Armour Body and are certified IP66, IP68 and IP69 — making them resistant to dust, water immersion, and even high-pressure sprays. OPPO says the devices have been developed keeping India’s conditions in mind, from humid monsoons to dusty markets, and can even withstand spills from tea, coffee or detergent water.

Cooling and consistency

Overheating is one of the biggest user complaints in India, and OPPO has attempted to tackle it with advanced vapour chambers and graphite cooling layers. The top-end F31 Pro+ includes a 5,219 mm² vapour chamber, ensuring stable performance even in temperatures above 40°C. The models also come with OPPO’s Trinity Engine and Luminous Rendering Engine, software optimisations that promise six years of smooth usage under a 72-month fluency certification.

Performance across models

  • F31 Pro+ runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset, paired with up to 24GB RAM (12GB physical + 12GB virtual).
  • F31 Pro is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 7300 Energy, with the same RAM expansion and UFS 3.1 storage.
  • F31 comes with the Dimensity 6300 chipset and up to 8GB RAM with UFS 2.2 storage.

All three handsets run on ColorOS 15 (based on Android 15) with OPPO promising two years of OS updates and three years of security patches.

Network and battery

Connectivity is boosted by OPPO’s Hunter Antenna 2.0 and a NetworkBoost S1 chip, which the company claims improve signal strength by 300%. Jio has certified the series as the best performer in its price bracket for network reliability. Outdoor Mode 2.0 ensures critical apps like delivery platforms and navigation remain active even in difficult conditions.

Battery life is another standout — each model houses a 7,000mAh cell with OPPO’s electrolyte repair technology, rated to retain 80% capacity after five years of use. The phones support 80W SUPERVOOC fast charging, with the Pro+ charging to 58% in half an hour. Reverse charging and bypass charging are also supported.

Cameras and AI tools

The F31 Pro+ and Pro feature a 50MP main sensor with OIS, while the base model carries the same setup with a toned-down front camera. OPPO has added AI-powered tools such as AI Eraser, AI Unblur and Reflection Remover for photography, and AI VoiceScribe and AI Call Assistant for productivity. Live translations in nine Indian languages, document summarisation, and call transcription are also supported.
